When I was a boy in school, I
knew who I wanted to be.
A welder, a racer, a mechanic,
and I became all three.
I worked with dad on race cars,
and thought all the while
that dirt track wasn't nearly as
fun as racing the 1/4 mile.
I grew to be a gentle giant, never
needing to use my fists.
Laughter was my trademark, and
that's why I'll be missed.
I two-stepped across Texas, fell
in love once, no doubt lost
my heart completely to a Red Harley
Davidson Breakout.
So when you look to Heaven in summer,
or winter's bitter cold
remember we'll ride again, someday
on streets of gold.
