Graveside services for Royce Edward Condit will be held at the Gaines County Cemetery on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at 2 p.m. Services are under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. The family will be at home at 605 SW 20th.
Mr. Condit entered Eternal Life with his Heavenly Father and Redeemer, Jesus Christ on May 7, 2016. He passed away at his home surrounded by family following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Condit was born July 24, 1927, in Conditville, Okla., to Taylor Edward and Melva Mae Southern Condit. Royce married Bobby Nell Harrell on March 9, 1946, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Mr. Condit had been a resident of Seminole since 1971. He and his brother, Paul owned and operated Condit Implement/Condit Trucking Company for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole, and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Duncan, Okla.
Mr. Condit was a WW II veteran having served in the Army and was stationed in Asaka Saitama Japan with the 16th Quartermaster attached to the 1st Calvary Division. He received the WW II Victory Medal as well as the Army Occupational Medal.
Royce was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, and a son-in-law.
Royce is survived by his wife of 70 years, Bobby, of the home; two sons, Randy of New Braunfels, and Bill of Sanderson, Texas; one daughter, Pat Crawford of Seminole, Texas; six grandchildren, John Crawford and wife Desta of Hereford, Texas, Krista Klause and husband Randy of Helotes, Texas, Taylor Condit and wife Holly of Midland, Texas, Barbee Condit of Austin, Texas, Jacee Ramirez and husband Steven of New Braunfels, Texas, and Luke Condit and wife Christy of Kyle, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Adison and Sierra Underhill, Cloee and Rylee Ramirez, and Finley and Karsyn Condit.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, John Crawford, Taylor Condit, Luke Condit, great-grandson, Adison Underhill and nephews, John Condit, Jim Condit, and Jeff Condit.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gaines County Veterans Memorial Park.
