Elizabeth Evelyn (Evie) Ingle was born on December 14, 1877, in Johnson, Texas. She married Duff Dobner McCroskey (1867–1940) on September 5, 1894. They had five children in 10 years. She died on January 11, 1958, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 80, and was buried there.

When Myrtie May McCroskey was born on November 12, 1896, in Vernon, Texas, her father, Duff, was 28, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 18. She had one brother and three sisters. She died on July 11, 1979, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 82.
