When Roselyn Helen Louise Schoppa was born on December 8, 1934, in Lockett, Texas, her father, Arthur, was 29, and her mother, Helen, was 33. She had three children with Billy Bruce Gillis. She died on July 27, 2010, in Harrold, Texas, at the age of 75, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.

Bill Gillis, 60, died Tuesday, May 2, 1995 northeast of Electra, Texas following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Monroe Husfeld, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park under direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Bill was born March 29, 1935 in Vernon to Millard and Myrice Gillis. He married Roselyn Schoppa on October 12, 1956 in Harrold. He was a farmer, a stockman and a lifelong resident of Wilbarger County. He graduated from Harrold High School and attended Tarleton State University.
Gillis has served on the Harrold ISD School Board of Trustees for 13 years and was a member of Immanel Lutheran Church. He served 10 years on the county committee of the ASCS and was on the board of directors and a longtime supporter of the Wilbarger County 4-H Livestock Show.
Surviving are his wife of the home; two sons, Bruce Gillis of Harrold and James Gillis of Iowa Park; one daughter Nancy Gillis of Wichita Falls; his mother of Vernon, one sister, Gayle Cleghorn of Iowa Park and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father on July 18, 1985.

When Billy Bruce Gillis was born on March 29, 1935, in Wilbarger, Texas, his father, Millard, was 26 and his mother, Myrtice, was 22. He had one daughter with Billie Jean Hope (1935–1995) in 1961. He died on May 2, 1995, in his hometown at the age of 60, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
