CROWELL — Faye Whitman, 97, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, in Vernon.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Womack-Manard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Damon Stalvey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Crowell, officiating, and Rev. Ken Rowland, of Crowell, assisting. Burial will be Monday in Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Womack-Manard Funeral Home of Crowell.

Mrs. Whitman was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Rufus Lee Whitman, Gaylon Boyd Whitman and James Eldon Whitman, all of Crowell; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

When Boyd Avis Whitman was born on January 29, 1911, in Thalia, Texas, his father, Lee, was 31 and his mother, Alice, was 23. He had two brothers and two sisters. He died on May 12, 1964, in Altus, Oklahoma, at the age of 53, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
