JOHN MCDERMOTT, JR. BURIED AT MARLOW
-----------
AUTO ACCIDENT INJURIES FATAL TO FORMER CAMERON YOUTH
-----------

Funeral services of John McDermott Jr., 18, were held at the Marlow Baptist church Wednesday morning following the arrival of the body here Tuesday night from the home in Beaumont. Rev. E. S. Hutcherson, assisted by H. P. Black conducted the services.
John McDermott died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Monday night at seven o'clock while on his way from Lake Charles, Louisiana to his home in Beaumont. The body was taken to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McDermott at Beaumont and brought to Cameron Tuesday night by Santa Fe from that place.
C. N. Green and Bros. took charge of the body and directed the funeral arrangements. The body was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bergland, grand parents of the deceased.
With John at the time of the accident was his brother, William McDermott and two other companions. He lived a short time after the accident.
The family left Cameron about two years ago to make their home in Beaumont.
John is remembered affectionately by a large host of people in Cameron where he was born and reared. His untimely death had brought genuine
sorrow to the host of friends and to the family and the deepest sympathy of their friends and this paper extends its sympathy in this sad hour.
The funeral was largely attended, burial being made in the family cemetery in the great cedars at Marlow where many pioneers of that community as well as relatives are buried.
