VERNON, Jan. 7 - Funeral services for Guy H. Wheeler, a retired Fort Worth and Denver Railway employe, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in the first Methodist Church here. Burial was in Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mr. Wheeler, 70, worked as a telegrapher for the railroad in Channing in the early days and married Miss Grace Collins of Channing in 1913. He died Friday in a wichita Falls hospital.

He had made his home in Vernon for 38 years and had retired as a soliciting freight agent there in 1954. Before going to Vernon in 1919 he had worked in Channing and Acme.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Richards, Fort Sumner, N.M., a son, Guy Wheeler Jr., Silver, Tex., a sister Mrs. Jack Sanley, Evansville, Ind., and three grandchildren.

NOTES

His death certificate indicates he was buried in Eastview cemetery in Vernon while his obituary says he was buried in Wilbarger Memorial Park.

When Guy Hamilton Wheeler was born on June 28, 1886, in Joshua, Texas, his father, William, was 28 and his mother, Benie, was 29. He married Grace Cole Collins on December 7, 1912, in Channing, Texas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on January 5, 1957, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 71, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
