When Julius Lafayette Heard was born on December 18, 1909, in Beckham, Oklahoma, his father, James, was 40 and his mother, Cordelia, was 23. He had one son and one daughter with Pearl Maxine Killough between 1932 and 1935. He died on July 1, 1977, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 67.
