February 1, 1856 - December 17, 1939
SILAS WRIGHT BRYARLY was born on 01 February 1856 at Mount Vernon, Titus County, Texas. His parents, Thomas Fitzhugh Bryarly & Minerva Ann Hodge-Oliver were residents of the Republic of Texas.
(NOTE: Franklin County lines were drawn in March 1875 out of it's parent county, Titus. Mount Vernon was originally part of TITUS COUNTY, until it was named as the County seat of Franklin County on April 30, 1875, about 19 years after Silas was born).
Silas was a carpenter by profession. He married Adalade "Addie" Gertrude Hargrove on 24 January 1878 at Elder Baptist Church in Hopkins County, Texas, and they had NINE children during their marriage:
Edgar Lee Bryarly (1878 - 1908),
Maud Pearl Evalin Bryarly (1880 - 1904),
Willie Odis Bryarly (1881-1882),
Walter Sterling Bryarly (1883 - 1942),
Lucy Kate Bryarly Moore (1885 - 1980),
Ruby Odell Bryarly Minter (1888 - 1929),
Bonnie Jewell Bryarly Clark (1889 - 1977),
Lena Gertrude Bryarly (1891-1891), and
Susie Eleanor Bryarly Gilbreth (1895 - 1975).
Silas passed away on 17 December 1939 at Sulphur Springs, Texas, and was buried there at the Sulphur Springs City Cemetery, Hopkins County, Texas.
