JAMES HARGROVE was born in November 1800 at Edgefield District, South Carolina to Britton Hargrove & Rebecca Youngblood.
James married Rebecca Wells Higginbotham circa 1820 at Edgefield District, South Carolina, and they had Eleven children:
John M. Hargrove (1821-?),
James William Hargrove (1823-1877),
William Chester Hargrove (1825-1903),
Christopher Columbus Hargrove (1827-?),
Wiley N. Hargrove (1830-?),
Francis M. Hargrove (1831-?),
Benjamin F. Hargrove (1833-1891),
Hugh Lafayette Hargrove (1835-1884),
Allen Houston Hargrove (1837-1900),
Andrew Hargrove (1839-?), and
Elizabeth Sarah Clementine "Clem" Hargrove-Penn (1841-1910).
James Hargrove passed away on 26 Oct 1874 in Franklin County, and was buried at Cypress Cemetery in Winnsboro, Franklin County, Texas.
James Hargrove actually died in Titus County, Texas – Franklin County was carved out of Titus County in 1875.
