When Dexter Sylvester Lack was born on March 21, 1891, in Big Flat, Arkansas, his father, John, was 33 and his mother, Louisa, was 35. He married Margrette Eva Hamilton on October 25, 1921, in Texas. They had nine children in 38 years. He died on August 25, 1955, at the age of 64, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
