When Florence Annie Shirrell McCubbin was born on May 8, 1888, in Gradyville, Kentucky, her father, Archibald, was 40, and her mother, Sallie, was 32. She married Joseph Tilden (Joe) McCubbin in Columbia, Kentucky. They had five children during their marriage. She died on November 1, 1954, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 66.
