Funeral services for Ms. Penny Grounds will be held Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. William Few and Rev. Carl Standley officiating. Interment will follow in the Parker Cemetery in the Jones School House Community.
Ms. Penny Grounds, age 52, of Porter Springs, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at her residence. She was born July 7, 1959 in Crockett, Texas and had lived all of her lifetime in Porter Springs. Ms. Grounds was a member of the First Presbyterian Bell Choir. She was the operator and manager of Town and Country Cleaners in Crockett and was also a member of the Porter Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include children, Shelle Vickers of Tyler, Stacey Parry and husband, James of Lufkin, Grady Nathaniel Moffett of Plano, Kimberley Williams and husband, Andrew of Anderson; granddaughter, Samantha Parry of Lufkin; dad, Grady Grounds, Jr. of Porter Springs; sisters, Cynthia Criddle of Mesquite, Pamela Vickers-Fairchild of Crockett; brothers, Grady Grounds III of Porter Springs, Fred Grounds of Porter Springs; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by mother, Carol Grounds in December 2010.
