Martha Streit, 93, passed away Nov. 15, 2014 in Electra, Texas. She was born Oct. 12, 1921 in Thrift, Texas to Prior and Dare Robinson Ribble. She married George Streit on Dec. 1 1940 in Vernon, Texas. Martha was a graduate of Midwestern University and taught school in Electra for 22 years. She was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clara. Survivors include one son, George Lee (Anita) of Electra; 2 daughters, Judy Reck of Arlington and Diane Lippe (Larry) of Seguin; one sister, Margie Streit of Wichita Falls; 8 grandchildren, David Reck (Dede) and Todd Reck (Shawn) of Coppell, Texas, Brian Reck(Gretchen) of McKinney, Leah Linnet(John) of Austin, Kristen Latham (Michael) of Dallas, Karen Lippe of Houston, Angela Streit Morgan of Wichita Falls and Kyle Streit (Bobbie) of Electra and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Reck and a grandson-in-law, Thomas Morgan. Burial was in Wilbarger Memorial Park.

George O. Streit, age 89, of Punkin Center, Texas passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 in a Wichita Falls hospital.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clara Community with Rev. Lynn Lubke officiating. Interment will follow in Wilbarger Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

George, one of nine children of George Streit and Lena Kahl Streit, was born Sept. 5, 1918 in Lockett, Texas. He graduated from the Five in One School in Lockett, Texas.

He and Martha Ribble were married December 1, 1940 in Vernon, Texas.

In 1941, he moved to Punkin Center where he was a farmer and rancher for over seventy years. He was also the owner and operator of Streit Electric for over twenty-five years.

In 1961, he was awarded the National Stubble Mulching Champion. He received the Fort Worth Press Conservationist in 1968 and Outstanding Soil Conservationist. He was also awarded the Outstanding Farmer in 1959 and 1968.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clara for sixty-six years.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Reck and husband, Charles of Arlington, Texas and Diane Lippe and husband, Larry of Seguin, Texas; one son, George Lee Streit and wife, Anita of Electra, Texas; two brothers, Ernest Streit and wife, Ida of Vernon, Texas and Robert Streit and wife, Jean of San Antonio, Texas; four sisters, Marguerite Rinefeldt of Fort Worth, Texas, Dorothy Wisdom of Thalia, Texas, Agnes Miller of Vernon and Edna Ruth Capps and husband, Duane of Vernon. He was known as the Papa who could fix anything to his eight grandchildren, David and Todd Reck of Coppell, Texas, Brian Reck of McKinney, Texas, Leah Linnet of New York City, New York, Karen Lippe of Houston, Texas, Kristen Lippe of Dallas, Texas, Angela Morgan of Abilene, Texas and Kyle Streit of Electra; and his eight great-grandchildren, Nathan, Kyle, Ryan, Aaron, Annie, Cole, Molly and Kinley.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Homer Streit and one sister, Annette Streit McClean.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Reck, Todd Reck, Brian Reck, Kyle Streit, Bill Brockriede, and Carl Brockriede.
