When Leroy Henry was born on December 19, 1913, in Cooke, Texas, his father, Walter, was 26 and his mother, Nancy, was 27. He married Annie Bell Hammonds on September 2, 1936, in Altus, Oklahoma. They had two children during their marriage. He died on June 10, 1997, in Crowell, Texas, at the age of 83, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
