When Jacob Otis Boattenhamer was born on August 19, 1890, in Smithville, Arkansas, his father, Jacob, was 25 and his mother, Mary, was 26. He had five children with Eliza Tennessee Boatenhamer. He died on April 26, 1970, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 79, and was buried there.
