Funeral services for Leon Chester, 81, of Seminole will be conducted Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tommy Taylor and Dennis Haralson officiating. Interment will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. He passed away Sunday, October 8 in Seminole.
Leon was born October 20, 1935 in Longview to Marvin Thomas and Fay Walker Chester. Leon and Mary Lynn Morris were married August 23, 1958 in Seminole. He had lived in the community since 1975, retired from Phillips Petroleum as an engineer after 17 years employment, was owner of C & L Real Estate for 25 years, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Leon is survived by:
His wife, Mary Chester of Seminole;
A daughter Brenda K. Bingham of Monahans;
A granddaughter Kyndal Bingham and husband Caleb Stratton of Seminole;
Two great-grandchildren Zaelynn Stratton and Brody Bingham of Seminole.
Family and friends visitation was held Tuesday, October 10 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Ratliff Funeral Home.
