When Frank Harrell Sims was born on August 27, 1928, in Texas, his father, John, was 23 and his mother, Lydia, was 23. He married Joyce Irene Martindale and they had two children together. He then married on May 1, 1981, in Wilbarger, Texas. He died on March 16, 2007, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 78, and was buried there.
