Obituary:
Gary Lynn GARTON, 57, of Booker died on September 9, 2006 from injuries sustained in a semi-truck accident. Funeral services were held September 13, 2006 at the Booker United Methodist church, with Rev. David "Butch" Hearon and Rev. Randy Thomas officiating. Burial was in Heart Cemetery under the direction of Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker.
Gary Lynn GARTON was born May 10, 1949 in Perryton to Roy and Esther Lenora (Born) GARTON. Gary was raised in Booker and graduated from Booker High School in 1968. He then graduated from Okmulgee Technical School in 1969 as an electrician. On November 8, 1969, Gary was married to Rhonda Lea HOWELL in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and in 1970 they moved to Booker where Gary established Garton's Electric. In 1973, Gary, along with his father, Roy GARTON, and brother, Larry GARTON, began the family business, Garton's Redi-Mix.
Gary was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Darrouzett. He loved watching football, camping, square dancing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda, of the home; a son, Shea ARTON, and his wife, Faith, of Booker; two daughters, Shelly GARTON of Rockwall, Texas and Shannon LONG and her husband, Casey, of Canadian; parents, Roy and Esther GARTON of Booker; a brother, Larry GARTON and his wife, Tammy, of Booker; a sister, Debra SLOVACEK and her husband, Mike, of Sarasota, Florida; five grandchildren, Brennan and Lexi JORDAN of Rockwall; Tessa and Levi LONG of Canadian, and Alex GARTON of Booker.
