Memorial services for Richard Lewis Lilly, age 59 of Prescott, Arizona will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at West Side Church of Christ with Dean Boyer officiating. Family visitation will start at the church at 1:30. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Lilly passed away on April 19, 2017 at his home in Prescott, Arizona. He was born August 23, 1957 in Denver City, Texas to Betty (Gooch) and L.O. Lilly. He attended Seminole High School where he was favored by many. After graduating high school, he attended Angelo State University, and later enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1976; after basic training, he was stationed with the 25th Infantry Division in Honolulu Hawaii. Richard worked for Baker Packer in Odessa for many years then moved to Prescott where he worked for the Northern Arizona Healthcare System. He volunteered his time with the Yavapai Humane Society helping to relocate VA service dogs; he had also helped organize recreational events for Veterans and was involved with the Prescott Christian Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football and other sports and loved talking about the oil field with his best friend, his dad L.O.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lilly; two brothers, David Lilly, and Tommy Matthews.

Richard is survived by, one daughter, Maygen Lilly and Chris Valdez of Hobbs, New Mexico; one son, Michael Paul Lilly of Prescott, Arizona; Father. L.O. Lilly of Odessa, Texas; two brothers, Nick Lilly and Andrea Thompson of Stephenville, Texas; Clark Lilly of Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Kathy Berryhill and husband Darren of Odessa, Texas; four grandchildren, Bailey Lilly, Nathan Valdez, Matthew Valdez, and Maddox Ganaway, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to: Alcoholics Anonymous - Alcoholic Recovery Center 608 17th Street Lubbock, Texas 797401 or West Texas Gifts of Hope P.O. Box 891 Odessa, Texas 79760, or a Charity of your choice.
