Funeral services for Mario Oviedo, age 67 of Seminole, Texas will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Templo Nazareth Church with Pastor Tony Cruz officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mr. Oviedo was born September 8, 1951 in Las Esperanzas, Coahuila, Mexico to Isabel Rosales (Flores) and Santiago Romero Oviedo. He married Maria Rodriguez on January 5, 1971 in Las Esperanzas, Coahuila, Mexico. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and had worked as a sandblaster and painter. Mario enjoyed fishing, watching boxing, taking care of farm animals, and fighting roosters in New Mexico. He was a handyman and enjoyed landscaping as well as just being outside. He was a very dedicated, hardworking man who loved his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mario Oviedo passed away in Seminole on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ilaria Oviedo and Maria Del Soccorro Oviedo Cortez. He is survived by his wife, Maria Oviedo of Seminole, Texas; three sons, Santiago R. Oviedo of Seminole, Texas, Julian R. Oviedo of Midland, Texas, and Boris Alonso Oviedo of Sabina Coahuila, Mexico; two daughters, Gloria Mendez of Del Rio, Texas and Rebecca Condarco of Seminole, Texas; five brothers, Simon Oviedo Rosales of Las Esperanzas, Coahuila, Mexico, Leonardo Oviedo Rosales of Sarasota, Florida, Jose Maria Oviedo Rosales of Las Esperanzas, Coahuila, Mexico, Jose Cruz Oviedo Rosales of Seminole, Texas, and Lucio Oviedo Rosales of Las Esperanzas, Coahuila, Mexico; four sisters, Conception Vaquera of Nava, Coahuila, Mexico, Dominga Mata of Dallas, Texas, Alejandra Guadalupe Uribe of Waco, Texas, and Maria De La Luz Briones of Seminole, Texas; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
