Funeral services for Arnold (A.B.) Benard Thurmond, 74, of Seminole will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. He passed away Friday, November 9 in Seminole.

A.B. was born June 18, 1944 in Kermit the son of George L. Thurmond and Mollie (Neuman) Thurmond. He served in the United States Navy as a radioman on the USS John W. Thomason, USS Goldsborough and Guam. A.B. and Connie Bishop were married in 1985. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Cecil; a son George A. and a granddaughter Tracey A.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Thurmond of Seminole; children Mollie Reynolds, Jessica Johnson and Lonnie Thurmond; along with 13 grandchildren Courtney La Caze, Patricia Thurmond, Megan Kelly, Christopher Welling, Kelsey Longabaugh, Craig Johnson, Taylor Jones, Hayden Ridley, Garrett Welling, Shelby Thurmond, Kaeley Thurmond, Georgia Thurmond, and Shaelyn Thurmond and nine great-grandchildren.

Family and friends visitation will be Sunday, November 11 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
