Funeral Mass for Jose Valdez, age 60 of Seminole and formerly of Odessa, Texas will be celebrated Monday, October 10, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Eduardo Teo officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. Rosary will be held Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 7 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Valdez was born December 27, 1955 in Mexico to Angelica (Hernandez) and Jose Valdez, Sr. He was a Catholic and he worked in construction. He made friends very easily and enjoyed telling stories and joking around. He loved singing, and he especially loved his family; his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Jose Valdez passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at his home in Seminole, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, and his wife Martha. He is survived by one son, Jose Aram Valdez and wife Miriam Perez of Mexico; two daughters, Araceli Espino and husband Ricardo of Seminole, Texas and Arisai Valdez of Seminole, Texas; his mother, Angelica Hernandez of Mexico; three brothers, Alfonso Valdez of Garden City, Kansas, Andres Valdez and wife Armida of Dennison, Texas, and Rogelio Valdez and wife Leticia of Mexico; one sister, Arcelia Carrasco and husband Victor of Gardendale, Texas; four grandchildren & one great-grandchild.
