When Clinton Asberry Russum was born on February 15, 1898, in Limestone, Texas, his father, Thomas, was 19 and his mother, Lillian, was 16. He married Ethel Dee Bradley on December 13, 1916, in Falls, Texas. They had eleven children in 19 years. He died on September 8, 1962, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 63, and was buried there.
