When John Walter Henderson was born on February 20, 1887, in Texas, his father, Thomas, was 26 and his mother, Ada, was 19. He married Mollie Mary Harris on October 9, 1907, in Stephenville, Texas. They had six children in 19 years. He died on January 8, 1972, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 84.
