Funeral services for Albert Rayburn Houchin, 86, will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Seminole with Rev. Ned Nugent officiating. Burial will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery at Seminole with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

Rayburn was born June 25, 1928, in Ladonia, Texas, to Albert Roy and Gussie Lee Johnson Houchin. Rayburn married Martha Marie Samuel in Lubbock on May 28, 1949. They moved to Seminole in 1972. Rayburn graduated from Texas Tech in 1949. He taught Vocational Agriculture two years after which he managed and owned cotton gins for thirty years. Toward the end of Rayburn's career he built and operated cotton module trucks.

Rayburn went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 63 years, Martha. Rayburn is survived by two daughters, Gail McCloud and her husband Steve of Seminole, Texas, Roxann Allen and her husband Jack of Bryan, Texas; one son, Phillip R. Houchin and his wife Gerry Anne of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Television Ministry at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Texas
