Funeral services for Miriam Odessa Hughes, age 87 of Seminole, Texas will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Charlie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Odessa was born August 28, 1932 in Winona, Texas to Alice Estel (Green) and James Lewis Pyle. She married Maurice Hughes in Lovington, New Mexico on March 4, 1950 and was a member of the Methodist Church. She was an avid sports fan, and very family-oriented; Odessa truly never met a stranger. She was a great wife, mother, and grandmother.
Odessa Hughes passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Seminole Memorial Health Care Center. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice Hughes in 2005; two brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by two sons, Kim Hughes of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Mickey Maurice Hughes of Marble Falls, Texas; two daughters, Teresa Brock, and Connie Curtis and husband Ferlin both of Seminole, Texas; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
