When Albert Luther Cox was born on July 20, 1879, in San Marcos, Texas, his father, William, was 27 and his mother, Lavinnia, was 21. He married Luna Mae Shields on August 23, 1900, in Caldwell, Texas. They had eight children during their marriage. He died on November 21, 1954, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 75.
