When John Davis McWilliams was born on February 24, 1917, in Athens, Texas, his father, Sam, was 22 and his mother, Martha, was 18. He had three children from one relationship. He died on May 9, 2000, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 83, and was buried there.

Doris Mae Burnett McWilliams, 95 of Vernon, Texas died on Saturday, March 28, 2015, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Seay. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Doris was born Thursday, September 18, 1919 in Van Zandt County, Texas; she was the daughter of the late William Henry "Dock" Burnett and the late Nelie Strickland Burnett. She married John David "J.D." McWilliams in Murchison, TX. he preceded her in death May 9, 2000. She was in sales and a cashier at Osbourne's before retiring from there. she also worked at Vernon Mfg. She was a member of Senior Citizen’s Center and she loved to quilt. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.
