When Virgil Elwyn Bingham was born on June 3, 1897, in Texas, his father, Pinkney, was 27 and his mother, Mary, was 24. He married Ida B. Ammons on December 11, 1922, in Wilbarger, Texas. They had one child during their marriage. He died on September 28, 1966, in Wilbarger, Texas, at the age of 69.
