When Lee Mae Spurrier was born on September 20, 1897, in Hill, Texas, her father, Bertus, was 25, and her mother, Frances, was 18. She married Warren Deconde "Dee" Pruitt on December 15, 1915. They had one child during their marriage. She died on March 13, 1977, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 79, and was buried there.
