Funeral services for Keith Whitzel, 49, of Plains will be conducted Monday, October 12, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Interment will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. He passed away October 7, 2015 after a lengthy illness.

Keith was born August 10, 1966 in Seminole to Ann McKinney and Kenneth Whitzel. He graduated from Mathis High School in 1984 and worked in the oilfield. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father in 2012 and a step-brother Sam Gandy.

Keith is survived by:
A son Brennan Whitzel of Artesia, New Mexico;
Two daughters Lydia Duenes and her husband Joshua of Lubbock and Jasmine Curtis and her husband Jairus of Lubbock;
His mother and father Ann and Jim Wright of Seminole;
His step-mother Pat Boucher of Yakima, Washington;
A grandson Owen Curtis;
His sister Cherry Stone of Idalou;
A step-sister Valarie Clark of Goldsmith.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to the New Mexico Children's Home, 1356 New Mexico Hwy 236, Portales, New Mexico 88130-9411.
