Funeral services for Darvin "Shorty" Presley, age 84 of Seminole, Texas will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at M.S. Doss Chapel with Jerry Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mr. Presley was born April 3, 1931 in Vernon, Texas to Beatrice Pauline (Bray) and Henry Edwin Presley. He married Shirlene Allen in Vernon, Texas on November 23, 1950. He was a Methodist and worked as a farmer and tool pusher for Cactus Drilling. He enjoyed auctioneering and bull riding in his spare time. Shorty was an all-around handyman and junk dealer who loved his family dearly; he was always the one to hold his family together.
Shorty Presley passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Seminole Memorial Health Care Center in Seminole, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Presley; one sister, and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlene Presley of Seminole, Texas; one son, Bobby Presley and wife Rita of Jerome , Idaho; two brothers, Kenneth Presley and wife Peggy of Whitney, Texas and Alvin Quisenberry and wife Pat of San Angelo, Texas; three sisters, Deloris Taylor and husband Milton of Aledo, Texas, Lavetha Ann Dixon of Graham, Texas, and Lahoma Taylor and husband Kenneth of Graham, Texas; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren
