Funeral services for James Troy Green, age 79 of Seminole, Texas will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Don Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Gaines County Memorial Cemetery (north). All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Green passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Seminole following a sudden illness. He was born June 25, 1930 in Brownfield, Texas to Mattie Kathelene (Stewart) and Alton Barron Green. He married Doris Marie Coleman February 6, 1987 in Seminole.

Mr. Green served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Seminole Chamber of Commerce, and the Seminole Hospital Board, and was president of the Farm Bureau. He worked as a farmer in Gaines County, and also served as president of the 4-H Stock Show for thirty years.

Troy Green is preceded in death by one son, Michael Lynn Green; and one stepson, Richard Gary Brown. He is survived by his wife, Doris Green of Seminole, Texas; 1 Daughter, Troylene Green of Lubbock, Texas; 1 Daughter in Law, Sheryl Brown of Bay City, Texas; 3 Grandchildren, Ashley Cook of Bay City, Texas, Taylor Brown of Bay City, Texas, and Kelsie Brown of Bay City, Texas.
