Funeral Services for Robert L. Hunter, 87, of Seminole will be conducted Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the South Seminole Baptist Church with Rev. David Klassen officiating. Interment will follow at Andrews North Cemetery in Andrews, with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.
He passed away Thursday, May 10, in Seminole.
Robert was born June 23, 1930 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Ben and Edna Hunter.
Robert and Lurline Shoemake were married on November 7, 1951 in Monument, New Mexico. He served in the United States Navy where he was a machinist. Robert was employed by El Paso Natural Gas as a machinist for many years before his retirement. He was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church, was a lifetime member of the NRA, was a member of Wood Carvers Association, and was a gunsmith.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Frank Hunter, one brother, and one sister.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lurline Hunter of Seminole; three daughters, Karen Moon and husband Jimmy of Hobbs, New Mexico, Susie Ross and husband John of Georgetown, and April Marquez and husband Terry of Seminole; one brother, Glen Hunter and wife Evelyn of Clarksville, Arkansas; one sister Frances Russell and husband Glen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; along with 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation of family and friends will be Monday, May 14 from 7:00 - 8:00 PM in the Ratliff Funeral Home in Seminole.
