George Travy
March 9, 1854-October 9, 1929
*The death certificate for "G. I. Howell" lists his date of birth as March 9, 1855 in Mississippi. His date of death was listed as October 11, 1929 in Lamesa, Dawson Co., Texas. His headstone incorrectly shows birth on March 9, 1854 and death on October 9, 1929.
George's middle name was "Travis" according to most family stories. However, some researchers have listed it as "Travy" probably because his headstone shows this.
