Funeral services for Martin T. Klassen, age 60 of Seminole were held Friday, June 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with Pastor Henry Martens officiating. Burial followed at Gaines County Cemetery. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mr. Klassen was born February 22, 1956 in Mexico to Aganetha (Teichroeb) and Peter Klassen. He married Sara Friesen July 4, 1976 in Mexico. He was a member of the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church. He had lived in Seminole for the past thirty nine years having moved from Mexico. He was a farmer and also enjoyed woodworking and some contract work. He was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and loved his family dearly; especially his grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoyed being with his pigeons and doves.
Martin T Klassen passed away at his home in Seminole on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Martin Klassen, and John Klassen. He is survived by his wife Sara Klassen of Seminole; three sons Peter Klassen and wife Helena of Seminole, Martin Klassen, Jr. and wife Susie of Seminole, Jacob Klassen and wife Aggie of Seminole; three daughters Elizabeth Wieler and husband Jacob of Seminole, Aganetha Fehr and husband Isaak of Seminole, Sara Froese and husband Willie of Seminole; eight brothers Peter Klassen of Canada, David Klassen of Canada, Jacob Klassen of Canada, Henry Klassen of Canada, Ben Klassen of Canada, Cornelius Klassen of Canada, Isaak Klassen of Canada; Herman Klassen of Canada; one sister Aganetha Enns of Canada and 14 grandchildren. The family would like to include a special “thank you” to Hospice of Seminole, Rev. Henry Martens and his wife Susie, and the whole congregation for all the food and support and to Boyer Funeral Home.
