Obituary Walter Ross Paine:
Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. John's Congregational Church in rural Lipscomb county. Rev. Floyd Thiessen officiated. Burial followed in the Lipscomb Cemetery.
Mr. PAINE was a native of Lipscomb county and was born Oct. 1, 1913, the son of John A. and Ella Hill PAINE. He graduated from Booker high school in 1932 and received his degree four years later from Canyon State Teachers College.
He had been associated with White's Auto Stores from 1938 to 1973, retiring in Midland. He had worked with White's in Odessa, Amarillo, Big Spring, and Abilene. He also had farming and ranching interests in the Midland area.
He moved to Booker area eight years ago.
He was married to Robbie OWENS in 1935. She died in 1948. In 1950, he was married to Erlene WRIGHT. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Marines.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Lee DIRKS of Amarillo and Ruth RICE of Santa Clara, Calif.; a brother, Leon PAINE of New Braunsfels; and two grandchildren.
