Oscar Ernest Haney was born on January 21, 1912, in Vernon, Texas. He married Beryle Jean Hollars on March 9, 1931, in Frederick, Oklahoma. They had one child during their marriage. He died in 1990 at the age of 78, and was buried in his hometown.
