QUANAH - Gladys Davenport, 86, Friday, died July 6, 2007.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Wilbarger Memorial Park with the Rev. John Spangler officiating. Arrangements are by Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon.

Mrs. Davenport was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Hunt County to Robert and Mattie Mathis Suggs. She married Guinn E. Davenport on Oct. 7, 1940, in Vernon.

Survivors include a nephew, Jodie Lemon of Quanah; two nieces, Charlotte McWilliams of Amarillo and Jo Ann Van Horn of Las Vegas; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, TX 76310.

When Gladys Marie Suggs was born on September 25, 1920, in Wolfe City, Texas, her father, Robert, was 38, and her mother, Martha, was 35. She married Guinn E. Davenport on October 7, 1940, in Vernon, Texas. She died on July 6, 2007, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 86.

When Gwinn Eugene Davenport was born on November 13, 1912, in Texas, his father, Leon, was 40 and his mother, Ollie, was 34. He married Gladys Marie Davenport Suggs on October 7, 1940, in Vernon, Texas. He died on August 2, 1996, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 83.
