When Roscoe Wiseman was born on October 22, 1881, in Tennessee, his father, Newton, was 30 and his mother, Tennessee, was 9. He married Hazel Clawson in 1923 in Wilbarger, Texas. They had four children during their marriage. He died on November 25, 1959, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 78, and was buried there.
