When Paul Funston Nethery was born on March 6, 1918, in Oklahoma, his father, Charles, was 33 and his mother, Hattie, was 37. He married Helen Louise Mayes on August 26, 1935, in Tillman, Oklahoma. They had two children during their marriage. He died on October 15, 1986, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 68, and was buried there.
