When Monard Lee Bell was born on September 20, 1893, in Red River, Texas, his father, George, was 22 and his mother, Hattie, was 18. He married Cora Lee Patterson on February 26, 1927, in Vernon, Texas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on September 18, 1979, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 85.
