LIPSCOMB — Kay Turner, 72, of Lipscomb died Monday, July 23, 2012, in Canadian.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Sept. 1 in Lipscomb Cemetery. Inurnment will follow. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian.

Kay was born Dec. 28, 1939, in Higgins to Bill Turner and Leora Barton Turner. He attended grade school in
Lipscomb and was a 1958 graduate of Higgins High School. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Vietnam era and was stationed in Hawaii most of his tour of duty. Returning home, he worked in the shipyards in Houston and for the Soil Conservation Service office in Follett. He was a member of National Rifle Association, Kiowa Post 635 in Darrouzett, American Legion and the Lipscomb Union Church.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Appie Rogers, Mona Bussard and Margaret Teter; and a brother, Kenzy Turner.

Survivors include a special niece, LaVaun Kraft and
husband Merle of Lipscomb; a niece, Lana Graham of Devine; and eight nephews, Lane Hill, Lance Bussard, Curtis Teter, Clay Teter, Kevin Teter, Clayton Turner, Kendall Turner and Clinton Turner.

The family suggests memorials be to American Legion, Kiowa Post 635, P.O. Box 52, Darrouzett, TX 79024.
