When William Ray Taylor was born on July 5, 1893, in Hopkins, Texas, his father, Erastus, was 40 and his mother, Sarah, was 24. He had one daughter with Claudia Rebecca McManus in 1918. He died on December 2, 1953, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 60.
