Vernon, Texas -- Funeral services for Claude E. Scott, age 91, of Vernon, Texas are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Vernon with Rev. Jeff Symonds officiating. Interment will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon.

Mr. Scott passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2004.

Claude was born November 10, 1912 in Pecan Gap, Delta County, Texas a son of the late Henry and Ella Smiley Scott. He received the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and a Bronze Star during WWII. He was a resident of Wilbarger County since 1948. He was a retired Ward Attendant at Vernon State Hospital. Mr. Scott was a member of First United Methodist Church, Amigos Sunday School Class, the VFW and the DAV.

Claude E. Scott is survived by his wife, Inez Scott of Vernon; daughter, Anita Stevenson of Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; one sister-in-law; and two nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Sullivan Funeral Home in Vernon, Texas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Amigos Sunday School Class.
