When John August Birnbaum was born on February 13, 1893, in Giddings, Texas, his father, John, was 37 and his mother, Pauline, was 34. He had four children with Rosa Elizabeth "Rosie" Krebs. He died on February 29, 1988, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 95.
