Allene was born in Delaware Bend to William J. "Bryan" Wendt Sr. and Alton Ragsdale Wendt. She later grew up with her family in the Whitesboro, Texas area.

She met Perry Sanford Marlin of Whitesboro, Texas and they married in 1945. He served in the Engineer Division of the Army and they traveled the world during his 22 years of service. After retirement, he began a second career as a custom home builder in Wichita Falls, TX. After his second retirement, they built a home in McQueeney, Texas to be closer to their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Karen Marlin Ortosky of Dripping Springs and a sister, Wanda Wendt Poynor; brother, Bryan Wendt, Jr., among others.

She is survived by her husband and her children; Ret. CSM Perry Sanford Marlin (Thasa) of Bangkok, Thailand, and Mary Graf (Ray) of Corpus Christi, grandchildren Stephanie Harrison (Bryan) of Corpus Christi, Sarah Graf of Los Angeles, CA, Rebekah Graf of Los Angeles, CA, Elizabeth Kriegel (Uriah) of Paris, France, Daniel Ortosky of Austin, Michael Ortosky of Austin, and Katherine Ortosky of Denver, CO, several great grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Marie Wendt Keelan; among others.
