James was born January 29, 1929 in Gaines Count to Ira and Lena Donahoo Roberson. James and Pauline Felsinger were married June 2, 1950 in Mena, Arkansas. James served in the United States Army from 1952-1954 serving in Korea and earning a Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. James owned and operated Roberson’s Exxon Service Station for many years and was in the service station business for 40 years, retiring in 1991. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

James is survived by his wife of 69 years Pauline Roberson of Seminole; three sons Jim Roberson and wife Mary Grace of Hobbs, New Mexico, Tony Roberson and wife Patricia of Seminole and Kevin Roberson and wife Kerri of Lubbock; along with nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the M.S. Doss Community Chapel. Interment will follow at the Gaines County Cemetery.
