Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, March 31, at the Westside Church of Christ in Seminole, Texas, for Max Truesdell of Seminole.

Truesdell, 87, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017, in Lubbock, Texas.

Bro. Leo Copeland will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at the Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole. Pallbearers will be Tommy Howell, Dale Adams, Jay Seale, Todd Howell, Matt Driscoll, Spencer Truesdell, Logan Adams and Jaden Seale. Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Caffey, Myrdise Durham, Kendall Reimer, Paul Elam and Armando Blanco.

Visitation will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Ratliff Funeral Home in Seminole.

Max was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Oak Grove, Stephens County, Texas, to George Frederick and Mollie Alice Truesdell. He graduated from Freer High School in 1948. He served active duty in the U.S. Navy from 1948-49 and the Navy reserves until 1955. He served on the submarine USS Odex.

On Oct. 31, 1952, Max and Dorothy Jean Elder were married in Freer, Texas.

Max was a man of great faith and had been a member of the Westside Church of Christ since 1974. He loved the time he spent with his family and was an avid outdoorsman. Max was employed by Exxon Company USA for 42 years. During his career, he worked in Freer, Crane, Artesia and Seminole.

Survivors include son Randy Max Truesdell and wife Dawn of Coppell, Texas; daughters Connie Howell and husband Tommy, and Kayla Adams and husband Dale, both of Lubbock; brother Roy Truesdell and wife Billie Rose of Victoria, Texas; sister Gena Johnson of Granbury, Texas; grandchildren Todd Howell, Caryn Seale, Shayla Truesdell, Sara Driscoll, Spencer Max Truesdell and Logan Adams; and great-grandchildren Jaden, Bailey, Kristin, Jameson and Harper.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Truesdell, on Dec. 6, 2010; brothers Melvin and Buddy; and sisters Vivian, Othel, Billie and Christine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lubbock Children’s Home or the South Plains Food Bank.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home.
